                      • descriptionハワイにおける民族舞踊をフラ、タヒチにおける民族舞踊をタヒチアンダンスと言い、両方ともポリネシアン地域の踊りです。 フラとは「ダンス」を意味する言葉で、歌・踊り・楽曲を総称してフラと言います。 フラは元々宗教的・教訓的な側面の強い踊りで、文字文化の無いハワイにおいて物語や教訓を後世に伝えていくという面も持ち合わせています。 タヒチアンダンスは現地の言葉でオリタヒチと言い、このオリという言葉もやはり現地語でダンスという意味です。 フラもオリタヒチもその内容によって更に種類が細分化されますが、一般的にはフラは複数人数でゆったりと優雅に踊るもの、タヒチアンダンスは腰を激しく振りながら踊るものという違いがあります。
